Client: Robert Half | 2021, 9 mos | Role: Executive Advisor, Project Lead
The Brief
Robert Half, a global staffing and consulting firm, initiated a strategic consolidation of multiple sub-brands into a single, re-branded Robert Half market presence. The website needed to serve as the digital centerpiece of this transformation. This project reported directly to the COO with regular CEO visibility, representing a mission-critical initiative for the organization.
My Role
I served as both executive advisor to leadership and project architect. I assembled the cross-functional stakeholder team, bringing together leaders from marketing, sales, IT, and product teams. I secured the right design agency partner, and maintained accountability for project outcomes. My position bridged executive vision and technical implementation, providing stability and consistent strategic alignment during organizational change.

DISCOVERY & STRATEGIC SHIFT: THE 6 EXPERIENCE PRINCIPLES
In partnership with the design agency, I led stakeholder interviews and user research that revealed an opportunity to shift Robert Half's digital experience from transactional to relational. I co-developed six core experience principles that guided our strategic direction. These principles secured COO and CEO endorsement, establishing the foundation for our entire project.
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT: A NEW VISUAL IDENTITY
I facilitated concept development sessions, aligning stakeholders on the visual expression of Robert Half’s new brand identity. Key design decisions supported with research data secured C-suite confidence in the recommended approach. These concepts established the foundation for a cohesive digital expression of the new brand architecture.
DESIGN SYSTEM & GOVERNANCE: COMPONENTS AND EMBEDDED TEAMS
I led the collaborative development of a comprehensive design system with the agency team. Through structured design sprints, I incorporated Robert Half stakeholders in component validation and user testing. I established governance models balancing brand consistency with implementation needs, ensuring the system effectively translated brand elements into scalable components across the digital ecosystem.
IMPLEMENTATION ROADMAP: A PATH TO MVP AND BEYOND
I led collaborative sessions with agency partners and stakeholders to develop our implementation roadmap. We defined priorities that balanced organizational readiness with transformation goals. With new marketing leadership established, a decision was made with IT to re-platform the platform technology. We focused on advancing design work while preparing components for a new platform, maintaining momentum for faster delivery as technology decisions were finalized.
